4Creative Labs Leather Case for Zen X-Fi (Black)Nov 08, 2008
the case is black in color, has white stitching and magnets to keep the case closed. perfect slots for the speaker, earphone and USB ports. has enough room for the player.

i am satisfied with the product. the player fits perfectly into this case.
what i would've liked is, if this case protected the screen of the player. but now i have to spend some more moeny in buying the screen protector. otherwise, im happy with the product.

all the people who are planning to buy the Creative Zen X-Fi, go for the 3 product (player, case, screen protector) package.

3Good, but not GreatSep 30, 2008
By Logan S.
This case is sturdy, looks good and holds the Zen X-fi 16BG w/ LAN very snug. The stitching seems very strong and well done, leather is high quality. There are also magnets (inside the leather) to match the nine central buttons to keep the case closed.
What I do no like about the case is that the screen opening in the leather itself seems a little small.
So, you have to push your player all the way in to reach the power button on the back, but in doing so, you almost completely cover you Play/Pause & Configure/Options buttons. Then the problem crosses over, so that if you push the player back a little to the left, then you do have full button access, but then you have cut off about 1-2 cm of the screen and you no longer can see the power button, and now the external speaker is half covered by the case...

So I don't know any other fault of this case besides the leather opening for the screen.
(The magnets could be a little stronger, the case does not stay closed very well. A button/Velcro or something might have been better... I don't know)

2Provides adequate to good protection, but that's itJun 06, 2009

I've had this case for 9 months, and with the benefit of hindsight that's about 6 or 7 months too long. Durability is my biggest (but not my only) gripe. The leather loosened up appreciably over the first couple of months to the point that my 32GB X-Fi will freely slip and slide whenever the protective flap is opened. The white stitching frayed fairly early along the top edge at the bend where the front flap folds closed. Considering that I split time with several other MP3 devices the wear on my X-Fi's case is surprising and disappointing given the amount of actual use time my X-Fi sees.

Other gripes have to do with the cutout openings in this case; basically they suck. The front opening doesn't allow a comfortable margin of room to access the X-Fi's buttons along the right edge of its front face; considering that one of these is the PLAY button--kind of important for operating the player, I'd say--this case only suceeds in creating aggravation. Moreover the cutout for the power switch in back makes it difficult to activate this slider switch even with my small fingers, in part because of the thickness of the leather material but also exascerbated by the loose fit of my X-Fi, whose sliding around doesn't keep the switch dead center in the opening. I KNEW that I hated Creative for moving this switch to the back of the Zen X-Fi from where it was on the side of the Zen, but the poor design of this official Creative case just hammers this point home.

Since I begun using my X-Fi more lately I've gotten to the point of irritation with this case that I'm actually using my Zen X-Fi without the case at all. The protection it provides doesn't outweigh the aggravation in hindering my X-Fi operation and accessibility, and the sorely lacking build quality that this unfortunate case brings to the table. Guess I'm out looking for another protection alternative.

5Quite Simply - Its A Must HaveJun 11, 2009
By Jennifer Highfield "Smed And Jen"
If you own or plan on purchasing the Zen X-Fi, then this carrying case is a must. The screen on the X-Fi is good quality and would look like rubbish if it were scratched up. Fits like a glove and keeps my player safe. Does 100% of what a case is supposed to do.

Spend the money and protect your player.
