I've had this player for about a day now and it's absolutely great. I got it as a replacement for my Sansa mp3 player, which was decent but had some features I didn't like. It got stolen so I decided to give the 16GB Zen Mozaic a try. I had some minor problems when I first synced it: the player frozen when I disconnected it from the computer, but it was easily solved by using the reset button on the left side, and I haven't had any problems with that since. I definitely recommend this player, it's excellent!
Pros:
Size is small, but not so small as to be unmanageable
External speaker (surprisingly good quality!)
Menu is intuitive and easy to navigate
Menu has an option to scroll down letter by letter through the alphabet to find music quickly
When browsing under "genre" you can choose to have music listed by artist, album, or track
Shuffle uses randomization without replacement (meaning songs don't play again until you've heard all of them)
Syncs perfectly with Windows Media Player and Rhapsody if you don't want to install Creative Centrale
Sleek look, both of the player itself and the screen setup
Cons:
The player did freeze once or twice
The USB cable is extremely short, but it does work with a standard standard camera cable
Comes with a lot of sample music, pictures, video, etc. that take up quite a bit of space
The headphone jack is on the bottom (which I find a bit annoying)

This is my third mp3 player from creative Labs. Each one has been an upgrade in capacity. However, this one has been the most satisfying of all three. I will be purchasing one for my daughter by Christmas, i am sure.

This is my 5th Creative ZEN MP3 I've purchased. I've been so pleased with them, I've proudly given 3 as gifts. I don't use it for music, but for listening to books, downloaded from the library. I gave one to my mom, who is 80, and even she's a whiz at using it....so you know the 'ease of use' is accurate! They are small enough to be discreet, yet the buttons are finger friendly, the volume is all you could want, and with the silicon skin (purchased separatly) it handles a whole lot of the daily bumps, drops and knocks. I've never had one malfunction, break, chip or scratch.
Terrific MP3 player but video...Oct 18, 2009
Other reviewers have already noted the plus and minus of this player so I will review the video portion.
Whereas MP3 side is fantastic, video side is so-so at best. Creative Centrale software will transcode only video that is not copyright protected. I found out that even if you use third party software to remove protection and copy the video file to Mozaic it will only record 48 minutes per session. It will not record two hour movie.
With screen size of less than 2 inch, you can't expect sterling playback on video quality. I also noted timing issue on audio. There was several scenes where the voice did not match when the character spoke.
Another issue is if you play video all the time then your battery will run down a lot sooner. I doubt this will be an issue because not many users will try to watch video on this player. It is going to be major hassle converting the DVD movie you own to make it playable on Mozaic. From using third party software to remove protection, transferring the file to Mozaic using Centrale software and then only 48 minute you can playback per session.
Still, I am very happy I bought this player. With built-in speaker and timer I am listening as background music player at night and you can program the player to shut down between 15 minutes to 2 hours.
For less than $100, I believe Mozaic 16gb is one of the best non-Apple MP3 player around. I am also lucky in that I paid $79 plus tax for this player. All in all a very happy camper.

I just got this in the mail a few days ago and I really enjoy having this handy little device for over here. I am currently deployed and forgot my ipod back at home so I wanted to have something to listen to music on out here. The Mozaic is fairly priced, portable and all around great to use whether working out at the gym or just sitting back and enjoying. It's not hard to navigate and puts out good sound quality for its size either through the headphones or its spearker. If you are looking for an mp3 with a decent amount of space for music and easy to work with I highly recommend this.
