5Instant upgrade over integrated sound for a great price!Jan 09, 2014
By Dan
I bought a brand new Dell with integrated sound. The Dell I was replacing from 2006 already had a Sound Blaster card and it sounded so much better than my new Dell with integrated sound. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on the upgrade so I purchased this card and the difference is literally night and day. I use my headphones a lot and the integrated sound produces a very "tinny" sound with almost no bass. The new Sound Blaster card gives the music more fullness and depth and the sound seems so much more spacious. I'm not familiar with a lot of audiophile terms but I can say that this card makes the music sound good.

Also, don't forget to disconnect the front panel headphone/mic port from your motherboard and connect it onto the port on the sound card. That way you can plug in your headphones directly into the front port of your computer and enjoy the sound from this card.

Great upgrade for the price. Highly recommend.

5Instant upgrade over integrated sound chip at a great priceJan 26, 2014
By Robert M. Bahnsen
Bought this card to upgrade sound chip on mobo. Disabled sound chip. Plugged card in, turned computer on, drivers installed automatically in Win 7 and I was listening to music in minutes. Did not use install disk since drivers were already in. Downloaded upgrade software from Creative and installed it to complete installation. Excellent.

5One of the best values Creative has offeredOct 28, 2013
By Frank M. Castro Jr.
After having owned 5 or 6 Creative Sound Cards over the last few years, including the Titanium HD, Recon3D and few of the older models, this card stands out for the quality of sound produced. Breathed new life and enjoyment into my older Logitech 5.1 speakers for listening to music and movies on my gaming rig.

My Plantronic 780 GameCon Gaming Headset is now fully powered by the powerful headphone 600 ohm headphone amp for high performance and grade monitoring. I have noticed very good improvement to my music and gaming from previous sound cards, but never to this extent, especially at this price point. The Titanium HD card is still selling for $150.00. This Sound Blaster Audigy FX 5.1 Sound Card SB1570 is an excellent value as well as providing high performance 106 SNR and 24-bit 192kHz DAC listening experience.

The software bloatware free compared to previous Creative products I have owned over the last ten years.

Overall you cannot go wrong with this purchase. I am surprisingly impressed with the quality of sound and performance this card delivers.

5Audigy FX 5.1 sound cardNov 15, 2013

Install under Windows 8.1 perfectly. Sound for music is awesome. For games it is really good. Have played Dragon Age, Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Saints Row 3 & 4, and Kingdom of Amalur . You can hear every little sound crystal clear. This card totally rocks under Windows 8.1

3Excellent Latency, but install issuesNov 11, 2014
By M. Francis "mfmusic"
This sound card is probably for those who do music production on their PC, which I do.

This is not the newest of the Sound Blaster line of sound cards, but it is the last to offer support for soundfonts, which, if you've used them, know how valuable they can be in your desktop music/midi production. No VFX plug-in software soundfont emulator works as well as hardware based soundfonts.

And if you're doing PC recording, then you know that latency is an issue. That is where what you hear in live recording, if you monitor the microphone, is a slight delay. This is the first sound card I've had that seems to have solved that problem. It's about as close as the software will allow you to get.

Those pluses aside, the installation of the software leaves a lot desired...like a working installation. I never got the full installation to work on Windows 7, it froze every time. The best you can do, or I could do, was install ONLY the driver, and none of the additional software. Then reboot, and only install the Creative Update software. On the next reboot, it will check for online updates and will find a new complete version, about 280 MB download. THIS installation DOES work, and includes all the software.

A couple of the items that I do miss from previous Audigy sound cards is the Creative Mixer. The new control panel app isn't as robust. I also miss a graphic equalizer.

I'd almost go back to my X-Fi Fatality, but the latency on this RX is so much better.
