 Works great if it stays connected or doens't uninstallOct 07, 2009
I have been trying to use this webcam for the past 6 months. I purchased it for work.It worked great the first time i tried it - everything ran smooth - the picture was great and there were no problems. When i tried to use it again, the camera was not recognized. Creative said it was my computer - but the same thing happens on 3 different computers - the camera is recognized as a USB, but does not actually let you use it. Creative did not know how to fix this nor will they replace the camera.
There are rare times (1 ouit of 5) that it will work, but i never know when this will happen. I have literally tried everything and nothing will work. There are no conflicts as it has been installed on a brand new computer and nothing - so I say buy a Logitech camera - stay away from Creative. I have read several other reviews and this seems to be the sentiment. If you do buy it - good luck - you will enjoy the amazing picture quality and great features sometimes, and sometimes you will be frustrated.

Love this camera! I actually have Model #VF0490, so it's probably the newest version...I was looking for user-friendliness and good quality and that's what I found. Super easy to set up and really clear! I mostly use this for Skype-ing with family, so those 'visits' are even better now! I also got the LIVE! CAM Optia AF camera for my PC and it's just as great (reviewed it too).
On a side note, Way to go Creative for not going overboard with the packaging and making ALL of it recyclable!!!

The Creative Live Cam installed and was in use inside 5 minutes!! The picture quality is amazing and I really can't get over how easy it is to use!! You won't be sorry about this purchase, I would definitely buy this again and will now be checking out the rest of Creative's productline. I can't wait to get one for the all the out of state family now that I am confident in Creative. It's cheaper than a plane ticket :)

I loaded the webcam software on my dell laptop and within 10 minutes I was using it with Skype to video-conference with my son. It worked great! The size is also perfect for traveling - I will definately use this when I travel internationally to keep in touch with the kids. Cool product.

Under product details it states the model of the Creative Labs Live Ultra Webcam is VF0060, which is a Webcam that came out in 2004, which is a discontinued and outdated unit. The main image picture and the watch it in action flash video of the unit and the items stated under the Technical Details are not the model Creative Labs Live Ultra Webcam (VF0060), its a 2008 model called Creative Labs Live Cam Notebook Ultra (VF0310).
It you wish to see what the real Creative Labs Live Ultra Webcam (VF0060) looks like see the Customer image from Antonio Mejias, ( which is the 3rd picture on the main screen), or Google that model.
The real Technical Details of the model VF0060 for sale are:
- Sensor Resolution - 640x480 not the listed 1280x960
- Not plug and play
- Software enhance still image capture up to 1.3 megapixel resolution not
the listed 5.0 megapixel resolution
- No Built-in microphone let alone a build-in noise-canceling
microphones with Live! Audio technology
Stay away from this unit. One of the sellers, Antonline got me with one of these Bait and Switch Webcams, (different model),. These older units that have many bugs and they are discontinued and therefore have no new updates from Creative Labs.
