Good For Scratch Protection, Not For Shock ProtectionMar 09, 2011
By G. Magno
This is a case that protects the screen and the back from scratches and gouges, not from shock (dropping it on a hard floor or a parking lot, etc.). The case has the thickness of a binder cover. I would suspect if you dropped the Ziio in this case on a hard surface, there would be internal damage. This is not a "padded" case. In other words, no sponge, Styrofoam or other types of padding. It's well built but I have yet to find out how to make it stand up in an angle as the photo shows. Comes with no instructions to that effect...

FLIMSY AND WILL NOT STAND AS SHOWN IN PICApr 11, 2011
By Renee D. Lewis
The stand is flimsy and it seems to be backwards. It does not stand on it's own so that you may have hands free. Not a good design and I would not waste any money on it for standing, however if you want a holder, then this case will hold the machine. It slimps out and will not stand on its own as the picture shows. Creative lab made an awesome Ziio 7 and they should have done better with the case. There are no other cases that fit so far. The RooCase is made strong and an awesome free standing case BUT they don't fit the Ziio 7 either - I know - I have already wasted money on that purchase as well.
Functional but that's about allJul 02, 2011

I haven't been very impressed with this case. As another reviewer mentioned, you can't use it to stand the tablet up as pictured. Actually, that's not entirely true. You can prop it up, but do you see that leather tab on the bottom edge of the case? That's for holding the Ziio's stylus and that side of the case is also the side that you slide the tablet into. That means that when you stand it up as pictured, the tablet may slide down a bit, out of the case. And since you can't really use the case to prop up the tablet, it's too bad the cover has that crease in it - when the case is closed, the cover doesn't lie entirely flat.
Aside from that, I've noticed that it's hard to access notifications on the Ziio when it's in the case. I guess the top edge of the screen is covered up just a little too much. And this may just be personal preference but it seems like a waste to put such a small tablet in such a bulky case. It's probably close to twice as thick with the case one. Besides, it's not like the Ziio is a big investment.
it works and standsMar 09, 2012
While I cannot tell how the item is propped in the picture, I have gotten mine to stand in three different positions with the tablet in it. The case also closes (wrap-around closure) to provide screen protection while on the go. The tablet fits snugly into the case so there is no chance of it slipping out. All the plugs, ports and switches are easily accessible while in the case, even the small microphone hole by the HDMI port. I have only had the case for a few days so I do not know how long it lasts, but it looks and feels like it will survive for a while.
paid to much for this itemMar 12, 2012
the only reason why I got this case was, it was the only one that would truly fit my ziio 7. but i cant get it to stand like in the picture. i thought the purpose of the stand was to make the ziio hands free. well i guess not. I was hoping to be able to use my tablet while i'm vacation, especially since i have to fly. it would have been nice it the case could hold the weight of the tablet. so now i have to return it and now i wont have a case when i'm on vacation. I love my tablet, but creative could have made a better case.
