Good name, bad product...May 08, 2014
By Jonathan Bliss
I'll just get directly to the pros/cons of the speaker.
- Great Sound with no distortion in high/mid range even at full volume.
- Aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
- Very lightweight for the size, and the handle makes the unit very portable.
- Although it was advertised to have eight hours of playback potential, I was only able to get the unit to play music at seventy-five percent volume for an hour to an hour and-a-half.
- The Bluetooth connectivity was very sketchy. Any time, that I would move greater than ten feet away from the unit I would witness a loss in signal integrity.
- Though I can not emphasize enough how flawless the high-to-mid range of sound presence the speaker possesses, I could not help but to notice that there is complete lack to depth of bass.
In my experience, Creative Labs generally releases superb products and the unit received may have been that one-in-a-million fluke that slipped through Q.C. with multiple defects (i.e. faulty battery, and Bluetooth). Do not let this review steer you clear from purchasing the Muvo 10 as it is potentially the best Bluetooth speaker on the market provided the unit you may utilize the unit to Creative Lab's specifications.

Works fabulously!Jun 19, 2014

I was really amazed at how wonderful this speaker was! To connect my iPhone, I pushed the button on the speaker and turned on the blue tooth on my phone. My iPhone immediately recognized the speaker, and I was able to push connect.
Then, you just open your music app and select your playlist, and it plays on the speaker. The volume is controlled by your phone, and the sound is great for such an inexpensive speaker. Even my husband who is a speaker snob felt that this speaker did a good job playing sound.
It also has a handle on the side, so you can carry it, making it truly portable. My husband actually brings it back and forth to work everyday so he can listen to his iPod.
As far as the battery life goes, it lasts about a week. The plug is a standard mini, so you can use any charger to plug it in and charge. It takes about four hours to charge fully.

Amazing speaker a must buy for anyone who is looking for a bluetooth speakerSep 05, 2014

The Muvo 10 is an amazing product! The pairing process is simple and clear if it through bluetooth or NFC. I was using my Nexus 5 and it paired effortlessly. The range of sound is incredible. You get crisp highs and lows. No matter what kind of music you listen to it delivers on all levels. I use mine daily at work, around the house and out with friends. I am extremely happy with the battery life. When testing the max battery it lasted just about a day and a half. The Muvo's light weight makes is easy to carry around. The handle on the side is such a great idea! I would definitely recommend this speaker to anyone who is looking for a lightweight, great sounding speaker.
A good speakerMay 18, 2014

I think this is a very good portable speaker. It has good sound, seems robustly made and works very well.
The speaker has an attractive tessellated design on the front (where the controls are nicely integrated), and I find the design pleasing overall. The carrying handle is a handy practical feature if you're going to be moving it around a lot because it's a fairly sizeable unit: I made it about 33cm x 10cm x 12cm (13" x 4" x 5") so it's certainly not a mini-speaker. It's not too heavy, though (about 1kg) so it's very portable.
The speaker has both Bluetooth and jack connectivity but there is no jack-to-jack lead included so if you want this function (I do) you have to supply your own lead. In use it works well: Bluetooth pairing is very simple, the connection is fairly stable up to about 6 or 7 metres but I found it was easily disrupted by people moving in between the source and speaker so realistically you need to have them fairly close together. It has NFC connectivity so if you have that function (I don't) it's a handy feature. The controls are for calls and volume only - you can't skip forward or back using the speaker. These work fine, as does the built-in microphone for calls, but it's slightly odd that the unit will play music from a micro-SD card but you can't navigate it in any way so this is a very limited feature. The power button is concealed at the back, but is a simple toggle-press so it's easy to turn the unit on and off by feel.
The sound is very decent. I have listened to a lot of music through it, from Tudor choral music to London Grammar and it all sounds good. The bass is a little weak, so a viola da gamba or that rolling sub-bass in London Grammar's Hey Now don't really ring out, for example, but the top and the middles are excellent and the overall sound is very pleasing. The volume isn't deafening but it goes plenty loud enough for my comfort with no distortion or audible hiss - adequate for a small party, I'd say.
Overall, at this price I think this is a very good speaker. The sound isn't real hi-fi (of course it isn't in a low-cost, compact unit) but it's really pretty good and the speaker is practical and seems well made and durable. Creative are a good manufacturer so you know you're getting a good quality product and I can warmly recommend this.

He Likes ItJun 19, 2014

This is a rather large portable speaker and the design is nice, especially the handle for carrying but still lightweight, too. My husband has adopted it for his own but I noticed he hasn't used it as much as he anticipated and keeps returning to our docking Logitech speaker station. Frankly, I expected the sound to be stronger for the size and price range. There isn't distortion, but the bass is pretty weak overall and the overall sound is a touch fuzzy at lower volumes--turn it up and that disappears with sheer volume. This is not a choice for sound enthusiasts but adequate for the average user and handy. The hubby is keeping it but it isn't going to live on the kitchen counter like it has for the last several weeks. Better for the deck and garage, not the office where you probably need softer volumes at times.
