System does just what I neededFeb 09, 2013
By Oregon Pioneer
Purchased a new HP fire-breather system that needed some speakers so went to Creative web site whose products have always served me well. This setup had just been announced. I had some hassle hooking it up due to HP's arrangement of jacks, but Creative's tech support assisted me well with getting hooked up. The sound is excellent considering that HP's sound system that is built into the computer is probably just average at best. But I'm very pleased with the speaker system and would recommend it highly.

Sound's Good.May 18, 2014
The sound is fine and if you don't already have a pair of Creative 5.1 speakers, you can't go wrong with these but I was a little disappointed. I purchased Creative 5.1 speakers about 8 years ago and there's no real noticeable difference in the sound or technology AND the wires have gotten shorter. You'll be sitting VERY close to the subwoofer if you want these all in the right spot on your desk. Don't even think of putting the rear speakers behind you unless you live in a 5x5 cell.
I think the reality for me is this:
I don't play games w/ 5.1 sound options
I don't watch DVD/Blueray on my computer
I use these for music and to my knowledge, 5.1 technology never took off in that area nor should it. When was the last time you were at a concert and the band played in front and behind you? It just doesn't make sense. So if you're strictly a music listener and have nothing that utilizes the 5.1 experience, These are overkill. Save some money, have a few less cords and get Creative 2.1 or 3.1 speakers.

Creative speaker systemApr 26, 2013

Have had a Creative brand 5.1 speaker sys for over ten years and albeit only ten(10) watts, it is PLENTY loud for my small computer room. On scale of 1-10, I set it at about 3, so as to get optimum bandwidth, and it is loud enough to hear 30 feet away. Comes with a built in processor, I think, and hooked into Realtech(brand) sound card. I think it works BETTER w/ Creative Platinum or better card. Have LIVE in the original system, used with the speakers. ALL color coded so as to minimize mistakes, and even without those, it is easy to install. Comes with troubleshoot software, and you can config the arrangements and modify environs. WHY not five stars? Creative is NOT the most attentive to problem solving, as I had issues with windows audio and downloading updated drivers. Some emails were not answered and always get the standard company line of "check with Microsoft" or "check your connections and reboot...". After 50 years of working in electronics, and computers, and being a First Class Tech, with degree in electronics, I was insulted. Then I realized I could solve my own problems, and their arrogant responses were canned. Not aware if they ever resolved conflicts with MS, but have NOT HAD any issues in years. FOR the money, I do NOT see how you can do any better. Flat response audio from about 20-18K, albeit the bass is weak in current config. That is most likely Realtech sound card issue. Will move my Sound Blaster Live into this unit to compare. I recommend this T6300. ALSO note some sound cards, even those on Mobo, can be config to use the speakers.

not exactly a fan of the bases being part of the outside housing for the speakers and you have to cut them off with like a jigsaSep 11, 2014
I really wish that the speakers had come with the ability to lengthen the speak cables without having to destroy the cables that came with the systems (the cables are hard wired to the speakers); not exactly a fan of the bases being part of the outside housing for the speakers and you have to cut them off with like a jigsaw if you don't want to use them; they don't have a point on which you could wall mount them if you wanted and I am not a fan of that as well. Otherwise, from a technical standpoint they are good speakers just those few minor items would be greatly appreciated for changes.

Surround Sound?Feb 12, 2014
These speakers are okay and have a good sound and all. The only thing I'm not to particularly fond of is they are all desk top only. They have no mounting capability. No one uses true 5.1 speakers without mounting them on something. They expect you to have tables to place the rear speakers on? I mount my surround sound from the corners of the ceiling and had to drill holes in them so could mount them. The center speaker should have something to clip it on top of your screen but doesn't. To put a center speaker behind your screen muffles the sound. Had to swap the center speaker with the woofer to get my center sound to work right. These will suffice but I prefer my logitec! They know PC Sound.
