The Creative Airwave HD houses a Super Charged Amplifier which works in tandem with two premium full-range drivers. These enable the speaker to produce sound louder than speakers twice its size!
Turn your speaker into a speaker phone with the built-in concealed microphone for dialog clarity in your voice communications.
1Music playback is on a turn-by-turn basis, with one source playing at a time.2Aux-in takes audio priority over Bluetooth streaming audio.3Actual battery life will vary with use and volume settings.4Currently supported on iOS devices only.

Excellent sound with simple set up!Aug 18, 2013
I love this speaker system! It pairs easily with your devices-there is a place on the back where you can just tap any NFC enabled device and it will pair instantly-I do not have a NFC device.
I have paired both the iphone 4 and 5 to this going through the iphone settings: general settings then blue tooth ON then you should see the Creative device show up saying AIRWAVE HD, but you have to make sure that you do this AFTER HOLDING DOWN the pairing button on the speaker device until it flashes! If you do not hold the (multifunction) pairing button down on the device until it flashes it will not pair with your device.
Once you do this very quick set up, it plays whatever you are playing on your iphone (device) from pandora to a ted lecture to your music or itunes files. I am so glad I waited to get the perfect speaker system for my apple devices because not having to worry about any cables makes it so much better and more portable. It says to fully charge you may need to change it for 7 hours but I found that it took far less time to fully charge out of the box.

(4.5 stars) Extremely useful speaker that's perfect for electronic devicesSep 14, 2013
The Creative Airwave HD speaker has been quite the handy little device to have at the ready. With today's technology, it can be used with a variety of electronics and should work with most any of them. Set-up was simple, and while none of my devices appear to be NFC, I was able to connect via Bluetooth without a hitch. The speaker can connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time, which can then be toggled back and forth between them, and also has a microphone so can be used to answer or reject calls. For the price (currently about $150), I was expecting a little better sound out of it, but it's still very good all the same. Having the volume control feature is appreciated, although I haven't an idea how high it'll go, plus there's no mute button. Perhaps a display would be a nice option for future designs. The seven-hour battery life is great and the status can be checked by pressing the multifunction button. A USB power adapter is included, so it can be charged either through an outlet or computer/laptop. The Airwave has a nice weight to it, so it feels solid and durable. I really like the triangular design, it's attractive while still looking clean and current. Being portable makes it ideal for most everybody, even if it's just around the house. I recommend it, especially if it's to be used with a tablet or laptop for music, movies, cat videos, or just about anything!

Great for any room and has a microphone!Aug 30, 2013
By Marcella Seidensticker
The Creative Airwave HD is portable but it is designed for indoors. It is simple and elegant enough for any room. It plays from your iphone or ipad through Bluetooth wirelessly. It is easy to use and has a very reliable sound. The amplifier enables this speaker to deliver sound louder than most speakers bigger than this one. You can receive your phone calls through this speaker as well since it has a built in microphone. I use mine everyday while I work and play Pandora or Spotify through it but you can also play your downloaded music.

Still waiting for the perfect bluetooth speakerSep 25, 2013
I'm waiting for the perfect bluetooth speaker, and after testing the Creative Airwave HD, I will keep waiting.
- Design. It's modern and subtle enough for classy rooms.
- Ease of setup. The bluetooth connection is a breeze with my phone, tablet and laptop, and a strong receiver helps it play when my device is in another room.
- Portable & battery efficient
- The sound is good for its size, but it's (very slightly) tinny and doesn't fill the room like my little Philips stereo.
If you are looking for a portable solution, this is likely the best if you don't mind the size.
If you're looking for home-use, keep looking. I am.

Good product, will replace my current travel speakerSep 26, 2013
By M. Broderick
For a couple of years, I've been using an Altec-Lansing "Hockey Puck" style speaker to plug into my phone or iPad when traveling. It worked fine and was very portable, but the cable was a hassle sometimes. I've accidentally used the cable flung the hockey puck across a hotel desk when answering a phone call without thinking.
This is cable-free! It is large than my Altec-Lansing, but I believe the sound is better (I have tin ears, sorry I can't be more specific). It is easy to connect using bluetooth with my iPad 4 and with my Samsung Galaxy 4 phone. I've never bothered to try the NFC connection, so can't vouch for it, but I'm sure it is fine. Recommended product for me! (note that I am pretty stingy with five star reviews, the four star rating is quite a good rating for me).
