4Amazingly good, but lacks headphone socketAug 20, 2009
By Peter H
So far we have used this speaker primarily for listening to podcasts, and for playing bird calls.

The sound quality of this tiny speaker is amazingly good for its size. Obviously you don't get any real bass, but otherwise it sounds excellent. Speech quality is especially pleasing.

The FM radio tuner works very well, pulling in some stations that larger table-top radios with big telescopic aerials have trouble with. The wrist strap doubles as the aerial.

Battery life is very good. The battery charges quickly. Your iPod will also charge when it is docked in the speaker and the speaker is attached to a power supply or PC.

The white and silver color scheme means this speaker will look best with a silver iPod.

Note that this speaker will only fit the 4th generation Nano with the curved back.

The only niggles we have are:

1. There is no headphone socket - it would be great to be able to use the radio tuner with headphones.

2. The included mini-USB cable is only 3 inches long.

5Broken car stereo - No problem!Feb 23, 2010

I bought a Travel Sound I85 Speaker because my car stereo broke & already had the ipod. I then got a car lighter USB adapter & it charges both the ipod & the speaker at the same time. It is as loud & as clear as I had hoped. It also turns an ipod into an FM radio, I wish it also picked up AM so I could pick up sports. Other than that, I love it, it's so convenient & sounds so good that I take it everywhere. I even put it in my pocket & take it running. It more than compliments an ipod, it makes it! I couldn't imagine having an ipod without one. Don't hesitate, buy this thing!!!

5Almost perfect!Feb 23, 2013

You won't believe the sound from this tiny speaker. Place it in front of a hard surface (like a window) and the sound is amplified even more. I also really like the radio - an added bonus which was not built into the 4th gen version nano. Battery lasts and lasts and lasts - I have played it all night to help me sleep 3 nights in a row before it needed recharging. ONE flaw: the nano keeps turning itself ON while it is attached to the speaker, draining battery. There is no "off" switch as there was in the 3rd gen version of this speaker by Creative. so I always remove it and carry separately. This is a real hassle and a shame since they fit so snugly together I would probably just keep them attached permanently but for this problem. (I have another nano for earbud use anyway) I wish I had bought a spare in case this ever bites the dust.

I use this speaker on my nano every night, all night long to play a play list of ocean waves, thunder storms and things like that. This speaker has been a Godsend. I couldn't imagine my nights without it.

I am using this with a "birding" program. The speakers are used to "announce" bird calls in the attempt to attract the chosen bird. Very cool with good sound.
